Stone Carving history is as old as Stone Age area. Its kinds are as many as the types of stone exist in the world. Yet again on the basic of carving skills the fun is gone pad into many a type. In the hilly track of “Kohi-gangar” the business is specified only to the carving of soft black slate stone.In this relevance a very big city (village) Clunick is established in the area and is known as “Good Walian”.




God Almighty has blessed the mountain ness range with an abundance of mines yielding black soft stone sheets. The size and quality of the stone movies form 40’ x 20’ sheets of about -10 mm thickness and exclusively black color.

The carver is famous amongst the NGOs and government forums for the unmatchable work of carving .At various occasion the man has presented his carving work and earned various prestigious prizes and recognition certificates. Among these prizes like Silver Jubilee prize is included.


   The ever biggest mince source of these stones is situated at “Kali Gali” area. It is a local district meaning “Black Street or Valley”. This whole hilly track was named “Good Vallies” by the English men, as the utilitized the route for traveling form Khyber Pass upto Abbott Abad. Due to dense forest and singing water streams the visitors (Britain) gave the area the same of Good Vellies.



Mr. Aurang Zeb Awan is the resident of this novel village of Britain Dreams .The village as situated right in the feet of Skyscraping Mountains of Kohiganjar. The village is situated on the west side of famous Haripur City, established by the Hury Sigh Nalva during 1822-42.







Through the carving work is very old in the region and carries the depth to the extent the habitual are residing in the area. 
The basic and foremost use of this slate stone was houses Roof top covering and occasional use as grave sign board. But with the passage of time it got a new usage that of the stone decoration and carving work.

Despite the fact that stone carving is very old fun yet again Mr. Aurang Zeb Awan can rightly be termed as the pioneer of modern stone carving in the valley with particular reference to commercializing the soft stone carving .
The men has invested a lot in this business and due to the efforts the fun is gaining place in almost all major celebrating functions at local semi local and at National level.


The carver has imparted the skill of carving to his two sons and a daughter. All the kids are taking been interest and are well set to carry on the task to its peek with the mix of modern inputs like graphic created by the computer.
